Hi,

We are struggling with how to help our 5 year old girl and some shyness issues.  It's not horrible, but when she meets new older people she is very shy, and is shy at school when they have special events like singing on stage.  The end of year class "performance" is coming up where they all stand on stage and sing as a class and recite poems.  She keeps bringing  it up and saying she doesn't want to do it.

any suggestions on how to help her through it?

thanks.

Hi Redcoat,
How did the performance go?  Do you feel you have any breakthrough with your daughters shyness?  How does she deal with it?

Have you gotten her into situations to help her face her concerns? Maybe visit an elderly woman regularly and point out what her time spent there means to the person? Getting experience, prayer, time, and encouragement can help so many of us overcome fear.
