Hi, I'm Emma.  I'm married with 3 sons aged 11 and 9yo twins.   The 11yo was diagnosed with autism at age 3, and currently attends a special education unit at his school.

I've believed in non-punitive, discipleship-oriented discipline ever since our kids were little (having a child who didn't understand the concept of punishment prompted me to re-evaluate what I'd been taught!), but I'm fairly new to LOP.   I've been trying some of Danny Silk's suggestions for challenging kids to solve their own problems, with good results.   I come from a family where there has been a lot of verbal abuse, so I really appreciate Danny's stance on what we create/invite into our homes with our words.    There are a few things in Love & Logic I don't like, but I love the way Danny explains the importance of having a non-controlling, relationship based approach.

Dh and I are applying to do the School of Ministry, though we don't currently have the finances to start this year, and we also need either a miracle or special provision for our eldest son, who, as he is at the moment, would struggle to cope in a normal school.  However, we have seen subtle changes in him several times after prayer for healing, and we are excited at what God is doing.

Emma
