Our child is currently dating a someone of a different race. They are talking about marriage. What do you think the pros and cons are with interracial dating and marriage?

Race is actually a man made concept.

Pros:
-Family is forced to reconcile and challenge their stereotypical thoughts of a certain race (on both sides of family).
-Family gets to see that God is the God of ALL and that being a different color or culture does not affect His love or blessings to someone.
-Family gets to see the blessing upon their young ones getting married... and realize that even God's Son, Jesus, his parents didn't have the smoothest marriage, yet it was divine... and mandatory for our survival.
-An interracial couple that God has picked out as a match actually can become that divine match, and that what is acceptable in God's eyes must also be acceptable in ours.

Cons:

I don't see any cons.
How could there be a 'con' just because someone has more skin pigment than the other??

I don’t see how there can be any cons. God created everyone and he created us all as equals and loves us all the same no matter what our race or skin color and we are called to do the same. I’m sure you know this, but I think that it can be easy to love people of other races as people, but when they get closer to our inner circle and close friends, it creates a new challenge for us. I agree with the previous post and all the pros to this. I think you should be proud that your child has found someone that they want to spend the rest of their life with and rejoice in that  Smiley. Marriages and integrating 2 families can be challenging enough; making skin color an issue will just add to the challenges that they may already have to face.
